Alan SuganoAlan is the President of ADS Consulting Group, Inc. (ADS). Founded in 1991, ADS specializes in Networking, Server Virtualization, Desktop Virtualization, Application Virtualization, Security, Exchange, Custom Programming, Web Development, SharePoint and SQL Server Development. Alan has given talks on Virtualization, Network Audits/Security, Troubleshooting, Server Selection, Network Documentation, Network Management, Network Design and Topologies, SQL Databases, and Disaster Recovery. He speaks twice a year at the IT/DEV Connections Conferences sponsored by Windows IT Pro Magazine and teaches Audit and Security Classes for the MIS Training Institute. Alan is a Contributing Editor for Windows IT Pro. He wrote a book titled the Real-World Network Troubleshooting Manual, which is a practical guide to network troubleshooting. Alan has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in Connected System Developer from 2004 to 2008. Alan Sugano attended California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and graduated with a double major in Management Information Systems (MIS) and Management Systems Analysis (MSA). After graduation, he worked at Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) for several years in their Microcomputer Advisory Services Group (MAS) as a consultant.

Kris Kroll
VP of Information Technology

Kris Kroll

Kris joined ADS in 1998. Kris has an accounting background, but discovered that she has a natural ability to problem solve and figure out complex IT issues. Kris joined ADS in 1998 as a Computer Consultant and Accountant. She was promoted to Director of Consulting in 2007. She has expertise in Networking, Virtualization, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows Server, Firewalls, Security, Disaster Recovery, Troubleshooting, Wireless and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Kris volunteers with a dog rescue doing transport, events, photography and graphic design and a diehard Ducks Fan. Kris Kroll attended California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a Psychology Concentration, and a Minor in American Indian Studies. After Graduation she held various accounting positions.


Jean Hsi

VP of Development

Jean Hsi

Jean joined ADS Consulting Group Inc. in 1994 as a Computer Consultant and was promoted to Director in 2001. She specializes in all aspects of OLTP, OLAP, Data warehouse database design, implementation, data migration and database maintenance. Jean has taught Microsoft SQL Server Maintenance and Administration, Microsoft ACCESS, and Microsoft SharePoint Maintenance and Development courses for various clients. She has written numerous custom Windows and Web database applications using PowerBuilder, VBA, VB.NET, C#, ASP, and ASP.NET. Jean currently oversees all software development and SQL Server projects at ADS. Jean has extensive Database Administration (DBA) experience. She has experience with database backup, maintenance plans, performance optimization, performance troubleshooting, triggers, stored procedures, query optimization, capacity planning, testing, SharePoint integration and report writing. Jean has utilized her skills to identify commonly used queries to significantly improve SQL Server performance by optimizing these queries through a variety of methods. Jean Hsi-Yin attended California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and graduated in 1994 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration – Management Information Systems (MIS). After graduation she became a part-time student at UCLA extension, Information Technology program, and attended numerous Microsoft Certification courses.


Ryan Farrell
Consultant

Ryan Farrell

Prior to ADS, Ryan worked in nonprofit for ten years – handling the IT and Data Reporting needs for a Social Service agency. While gratifying to be a part of a community organization, he desired to learn more and further develop his knowledge of Information Technology. Ryan joined ADS in 2013. He had the opportunity to apply his knowledge and broaden his skill set. He has expertise in new cutting-edge technologies such as Hyper-convergence, Networking, Virtualization and Cloud services. Ryan works with Security, Exchange, SharePoint, and Backup/Disaster Recovery. Being a part of the ADS team allows Ryan to experience that constant growth and learning that accompanies the ever changing and evolving technologies. Ryan studied Information Technology and Network Administration at Western Governor’s University (WGU) in their Bachelors of Science – Information Technology program. He earned over a dozen IT certifications, A+, Project+, MTA: Windows Operating System Fundamentals, MTA: Security Fundamentals, MTA: Networking Fundamentals, and CompTIA Network+.

Blandy Allred
Consultant

Blandy Allred

Blandy has over 13 years of IT enterprise support and design experience. Blandy has extensive experience in Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Local Area Networks (vLANs), Wireless, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Veeam, Disaster Recovery with Zerto, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN), IT Security, Active Directory, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud 2 (EC2) and Office 365. He managed over 5,000 servers with SCOM. He has successfully completed numerous Active Directory Migrations with installations that contained over 20,000 objects. Blandy is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. In the Marines he served as a Plane Captain and Collateral Duty inspector for Fixed-Wing Marine Fighter Attack (VMFA) 232 from 1997 to 2002. After leaving the Marines, he attended Stevens Henager College and received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2005. He worked as a Train Inspector for the Union Pacific Railroad from 2003 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007 he performed desktop support for Jack Johnson - an engineering and architectural firm. From 2007 to 2012 he worked at ADS Consulting Group as a consultant. From 2012 to 2017 he worked at the Hearst Corporation as an Enterprise IT Systems Engineer. In early 2017 he rejoined ADS Consulting Group as a consultant. We’re very excited to have him back at ADS Consulting Group as a valuable team member!


Amy Ota
Executive Assistant

Amy Ota

Amy's main responsibility at ADS is proofing all presentations, articles, training materials, blogs, and our web site before it is released to the public. Amy Ota attended California State University, Northridge and studied Early Childhood Education and Art. She previously worked in teaching, finance, and strategic marketing. She proofed and edited print advertisement for the Real Estate Industries.

Malice Kheir
Consultant

Malice, ADS’s Mac specialist, has over 20 years of Mac experience, including two years at an Apple Store. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Assurance, a Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP) certification, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Photography. Though she attended law school, she chose to focus her career on technology and security. Her extensive IT background includes a range of help desk roles and serving as a sole IT resource for a 300-person company. Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, JAMF, and Automate, Malice is a versatile professional who strengthens ADS’s Mac support and design expertise.

Lance Shelton
Consultant

Lance SheltonLance’s introduction to the world of technology began as a child when he helped his father upgrade their home computer. As he got older, he learned how to perform upgrades, remove malware, and install other parts on devices. Although Lance was always interested in IT, while in college, he decided to double major in International Affairs and Japanese. After graduating from college, Lance took an interest in computer coding. He learned to build his own website using HTML CSS and JavaScript, but later discovered Cybersecurity. Before making the decision to pursue a career in IT, Lance was a victim of a phishing attack. This motivated him to pursue learning cybersecurity and he hasn’t looked back. Lance has taken several online courses in Information Technology including courses offered by IBM and Google that helped prepare him for an IT role. Prior to working with ADS, Lance taught Cybersecurity at two high schools as part of a program called Cyber Patriot. Lance has a passion for learning and a willingness to take on challenges.
